- Ohioans spoke loud and clear on Tuesday/Election Day – women have the right to control and make decisions about their bodies. Yet, several Ohio Republicans will not accept this. They are scheming to bypass our government’s regular checks and balances to further their personal and party agenda. We citizens should be alarmed by this behavior. These officials are supposed to reflect their constituents, but their refusal to comply shows their interests have nothing to do with the people of Ohio. In addition, their proposal to block the courts from interpreting the new constitutional amendment seems like a violation of the Constitution itself. We have three branches of government to ensure separation of power, but these Republicans want to do away with it to have more control to make unilateral decisions. This violates the very oath they took when accepting their position.
